I'm relieved to read you! I do agree with you but I don't stop to hear the opposite speech. Also, I was wondering why everyone was protesting against PIPA and SOPA whereas i thought this two bills aim to protect efficiently the IP right holders...

Everybody agree that internet is uncontrollable for time being. Therefore there are many many illigal actiivities + harmful websites are around. It makes dangerous for particularly children to access.
But law must be designed so carefully that it should not harm the decent information flow .

Re: ". If a case with this much at stake could not convince a judge after seven months, then there is little hope for any IP case."

You're right ... there is little hope for any IP case. I learned that some years ago, as a an expert witness in a number of cases, both in the U.S.A. and Canada. Part of the reason is that nothing in real life is "binary".

Herbert, ENIAC was also hardwired to do calculations. By your definition, the EDSAC in Cambridge was the first computer in 1949. However, that's not the definition that computer scientists or historians use for "computer," but rather that's the definition of "stored program computer."

Hi Genevieve. I definitely believe in transparent markets and competition, so any other means for selling or licensing patents seems good to me, even if it cuts out the middleman.

"That’s why restrictions on the sale of patents must never be allowed in any free market economy" -

I do agree Bob, and NPE are playing a role as broker in a non-transparent market. But what about the opportunity for all my grocery producers to upload their production online transparently and sell directly to the consumer? (Community supported Agriculture does already use this model from producer to consumer. ) Grocery Trolls such as Safeway or Walmart for sure provide a wider channel for commerce but do they promote the best quality product for the end-user?

In a similar way, Patent Trolls provide professional channel handling and patent-related transaction but do they encourage the usage of top innovation when they sue for infringement?

This article is so true it's not even funny. Read da Vinci's notebooks for an idea of his true analytical abilities, as they are in fact quite funny, being totally absurd for the most part. For example, he thought that vision involved the departure of the eyeballs from the skull, upon which they would travel across space, touch the object to be viewed, the return to the skull and transfer visual information to the mind. After reading those notebooks, you'd swear that the guy was a retard.
